Introduction to computers is a course designed to give you the skills to turn on a computer, run programs, use the mouse & keyboard and feel comfortable using your first computer.
Who it is aimed at
This course is aimed at absolute beginners who have no knowledge of computers. It is assumed that you have never held a mouse before and have no idea of how to use Microsoft Windows.
What will be covered
The course will introduce computers, using the keyboard, Microsoft Windows, running programs, typing a letter and taking your first steps on the Internet.
This course is an easy introduction to using a home computer. It is suitable for people who have a computer and are not confident at using it or for anyone who has never used a computer before.
What will I be able to do at the end of the course
At the end of this course you will be confident enough to use a computer for basic tasks such as using a mouse and keyboard, writing and printing a letter, searching the internet for infomation and other tasks that will help boost your confidence.
What skills or equipment do I need to attend
You simply need a pen and paper to make notes, no skills are needed to attend the course as it is assumed that you have never been on a computer before or that you use a computer but are not a confident user.
